Introducing Taisteal Restaurant, Stockbridge, Edinburgh

Introducing Taisteal, Stockbridge, Edinburgh

On the 11th January, I had the honour to be invited to the opening of Taisteal in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh. This is a new restaurant in Raeburn Place. I was so excited to be invited as it was my first blogger event like this.

Taisteal means travel or journey in Gaelic, is a new venture by chef Gordon Craig. The aim is to combine fine dining with a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and does feel like a very low key and intimate dining environment. Perfect for a romantic date or a long overdue catch up with friends.

The opening night was a night of live music, provided by Bradley Cooper, not the guy from the hangover but a great vocalist nonetheless. There was also a whole host of canapes provided, both sweet and savoury. I cannot comment on what everything was, but it was all delicious. My favourite was the Steak Tartare something I have always wanted to try.

It was great to be invited along to this event and meet some other fellow bloggers. My husband even met another Blog Husband or Boyfriend (BHOB) who ultimately are taken along to events to take the photos!

The restaurant offer a market menu, which in January is offered at two courses for £10. A bargain in my eyes! Well worth a visit. Fine dining for two for £20, you can’t go wrong! Stockbridge is not a place I can say I have spent a lot of time but I definitely will be back, especially to visit Taisteal for a meal. I especially like the sound of the Goats Cheese and Beetroot Cannelloni with Apple and Truffled Honey.  I would recommend booking ahead as it is such an intimate venue.
